DVD-R & DVD-RW
The Toshiba SD-R5002 supports both secure, write-once DVD-R General technology
and rewriteable DVD-RW (discs may be written to up to 1,000 times). Combined,
these formats provide the optimum solution for creating DVDs**, audio and video
storage/playback; computer storage for documents, data and images; backup and
archiving; and distribution/sharing of photos and videos. DVD-R
provides the very best compatibility with future, current and legacy DVD players.
It is estimated that 98% of existing DVD movie players and DVD-ROM drives will
play DVDs created using the Toshiba SD-R5002 DVD-R format. A recent article
indicated that only 70% of DVD movie players currently being sold would play the
DVD+RW format discs from DVD burners being offered by HP and others (not to
mention the incompatibility with DVD movie players and DVD-ROM drives
manufactured prior to 2000).

CD-R & CD-RW
The Toshiba SD-R5002 fully supports both CD-R and CD-RW formats. Burn custom CDs to store or share your photos, music and data files. The
included software lets you compile and catalog video, sound, photo and text
files on CD or record, manage and play digital music.
ADS USB Instant DVD
The USB Instant
DVD is an external USB device that enables any VCR, camcorder, DVD player or
Laserdisc player to transfer audio and video into the PC for editing, DVD
authoring or archiving. The USB
Instant DVD also outputs video and audio out to a VCR or camcorder for recording
to tape.
Built-in video encoder/decoder chips and hardware MPEG2 codec enables the USB Instant DV to provide Real Time compression of video to
MPEG2
(704 x 480 @ 30fps) D-1 broadcast quality resolution as well as other resolutions.
The USB Instant DVD includes a special version of the powerful Ulead VideoStudio
6.0
software package for video editing and DVD authoring and burning. This Full version of VideoStudio
6.0
includes added enhancements to take advantage of the USB Instant DVD's
capabilities. With its Real Time hardware MPEG2 compression and powerful
