The ADS Dual Link 2.5" Drive
Kit converts a 2.5" IDE Notebook hard drive into an
external, portable combo FireWire 1394 and USB 2.0 hard drive.
Based on the latest FireWire 1394/IDE and USB 2.0/IDE bridge technology, the drive kit
obtains the maximum performance from 2.5" IDE notebook drives.
A truly portable storage solution for notebook
and desktop computer
users, the drive kit measures a tiny 5 1/2" X 3 1/4" X 1". To further enhance portability, the drive kit requires no AC power outlet.
The unique design
can be powered through a 6 pin FireWire 1394 port, or for computers not having a 6
pin 1394 connector, the drive obtains power from an
available USB port.

- Windows PCs:
- Windows 98SE / Millennium / 2000 / XP
- Available FireWire/1394/i.LINK (OHCI-compliant) or USB 1.1 or 2.0 port
- Available USB port for obtaining power if connecting to a 4-pin IEEE1394
port
- Two USB ports needed for use as a USB drive (one for powering the drive from
USB port and one for data transfer through USB)
- Macs:
- iMac, Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White), or later model
- Mac OS 9.1 or higher, or Mac OS X version 10.1.2 or higher
